I formerly had a large frame. I look like I'm in my high 200s in this picture. I gained weight at a startlingly rapid rate, reaching a maximum of 340 pounds when I developed pre-diabetes and had to start taking diabetes medication. I'm here in my mid-40s.
I shed 170 pounds between 2004 and the start of 2006. I achieved it by making some significant life changes. I sustained my weight loss for ten years. I didn't start gaining weight again until early 2016, when I had to care for my mother for about two years after she was diagnosed with cancer. By the time she died, I had gained 60 pounds again without noticing a thing. After several months, I finally managed to lose the weight and return to my stable weight of ten years.

In 2011, I earned my certification as a personal trainer, and I started working with overweight individuals to teach them how to move and connect with their bodies. I created a number of training videos over a few years that included individuals up to 400 pounds performing the exercises. I've written two books, and the second one will be out around the beginning of the new year, just in time for "weight loss season."
